Scheduled Maintenance
On September 23rd, during the maintenance window, we will be changing the certificate authority (CA) for the following hostnames to Google Trust Services, replacing the current Let's Encrypt CA:
- Default Umbraco Cloud frontend hostnames: {project}.{region}.umbraco.io
- Kudu hostnames: {project}.scm.{region}.umbraco.io
- Umbraco ID hostnames: identity.umbraco.com

No action is required from you unless you are using a highly specific implementation of certificate pinning.
There will be no impact on hostname availability during the maintenance.

This change unifies the certificate authority used across all Umbraco Cloud hostnames, both custom and default. The switch is necessary due to the expiration of a root certificate in the Let's Encrypt chain on September 30th. By moving to Google Trust Services, we ensure continued support for all clients, including older Android devices (pre-2016 models), which account for 2.96% of Android devices on the internet.
