Scheduled
On February 9th we will do an automatic upgrade on all projects running Umbraco 8.9+ to enable single sign-on for the Umbraco backoffice. This will not trigger a version upgrade but your site will restart in order to enable the new functionality for Umbraco Cloud.

With single sign-on for the Umbraco Cloud platform, you only have to log in once and you’re good to go. This works across the Cloud portal, the backoffice on all environments and even on local clones. It benefits everyone using Umbraco Cloud from developers to editors. Everyone will have a smoother experience with fewer nterruptions.

Once the maintenance is done you will be using single sign-on for all authentication on your cloud projects running Umbraco 8.9+. If you upgrade your project(s) prior to February 9th, you will get the upgrade on day one. Otherwise, single sign-on will be enabled once you upgrade to the latest minor version (8.9+). Only Umbraco Cloud projects are included in this round, Umbraco Uno and Heartcore will follow at a later date.

This is a part of our move to a new Cloud infrastructure. You can read more about this initiative in The Future of Umbraco Cloud blog post: https://umbraco.com/blog/the-future-of-umbraco-cloud/
